WCEC launches Chartered Practitioners' Register to entire cleaning industry at Cleaning Show 2021

It has been a long wait, but finally UK cleaning and Facilities Management professionals have been able to convene in person at one of the major calendar events of the UK’s environmental cleaning industry - the Cleaning Show.

It is here that the Worshipful Company of Environmental Cleaners took the opportunity to launch the new Chartered Practitioner's Register to the entire cleaning industry.

The first individuals to achieve chartered status were WCEC members, who tried and tested the application and qualification process earlier in 2021.

Now, anyone in the UK cleaning industry who satisfies the application criteria may do the same. At the Cleaning Show yesterday, two more Chartered Practitioners were announced and added to their number: Yvonne Taylor from OCS and Robert Sutherland from RAMS FM.

"It's a proud and hugely significant achievement for us at the WCEC, and for the cleaning industry overall,” said Gary Fage, the new Master of the WCEC, at the ceremony.

“Finally, we will have a means of demonstrating our professional commitment, skill and expertise as cleaning professionals, and stand as acknowledged peers with other industries in the UK who can do the same."
