Toucan-Eco beats chemical price increases

* Toucan-eco.jpgThe Toucan Eco system launched in March, immediately gained international recognition as a cost effective and ecological way of producing a combined cleaner and disinfectant. Using only tap water and salt, the device uses electrochemical activation (ECA) to produce a highly effective, environmentally friendly substitute for many commonly used chemicals. The Toucan fluid is produced on the spot - saving time and money.

Says the manufacturer's Oliver Weisflog: "Recently a well-known international chemical manufacturer sent a letter to distributors in an attempt to justify a significant price hike stating: '... raw materials are 17% above our forecast and budgeted costs. Crude oil increased by 30%, Hydrocarbon solvents increased by 30%...'

"The Toucan Eco system does not use oil based products or solvents and the cost of tap water and salt used in the process are virtually nil. These raw materials are almost universally available in even the poorest areas of the world, making this system one of the most sustainable around.

"The manufacturer goes on to say: '...polymers used in packaging such as caps and bottles and scrubbing agents by 40%. Vegetable and palm based chemicals increased by over 30%. Corrugated packaging has risen 25%...'

"The Toucan Eco system employs a reuseable spray and jug and has no disposable elements; the contents can be transferred to normal trigger sprays which are also reuseable. Interestingly most 'green' products advertised also need conventional packaging and transport. The only packaging the Toucan Eco has is the box it comes in!

"Finally the chemicals manufactuer goes on to say: '...A large range of basic chemicals increased by in excess of 25%...'

"The Toucan fluid is completely free of expensive chemical elements. It is safe to use and dispose of and the fluid is produced on the spot economically in terms of cost and quantity - and is especially good when paired with microfibre systems.

"The fluid has a wide range of uses within the cleaning industry, particularly where disinfection is important. Offices, schools, health centres, leisure locations, public transport, supermarkets, etc can all benefit from the system. Day cleaning risks are minimised as the fluid is harmless to people but effective against a whole range of bacteria and viruses. The disinfection properties have been verified to EN 1276 standard and the cleaner has a mild degreasing effect which is excellent for a wide range of modern surfaces."

Toucan Eco is produced by Centrego along with an extensive range of other ECA devices and can be bought direct in the UK or via distributors.

Centrego is a UK based company that was formed specifically to develop and promote products using Electro Chemical Activation (ECA) technology. The company offers a range of products from domestic water ionisers to industrial anolyte disinfection
generators to distributors and end-users around the world.

"We have a team of professionals who provide a combination of technical expertise, scientific know-how, industry knowledge and application experience, who can answer your technical and commercial questions and provide the products and agreements you require, to either directly use the technology as an end-user or become a distributor in a specific territory," says Oliver.

"ECA Technology is now scientifically accepted as being a highly effective, cost efficient and environmentally sensitive alternative way of producing disinfectants and detergents as a sustainable alternative to traditional chemicals. Centrego has products that are proven to deliver high efficacy at low financial and environmental cost.

2We are now working with a growing number of distributors in different territories to market the products locally to allow a wide range of end users to benefit from the many advantages of adopting ECA technology for their specific applications."
