Innovation at Interclean Amsterdam

* Innovation-lab.jpgWith Interclean Amsterdam 2022 in full swing (final day tomorrow), Show visitors have been able to visit the Innovation Lab and take a close look at the entries that made the shortlist in this year's Innovation Awards. They are:

Sustainability & Environment:

Category winner: Essity's Tork Biobased Heavy-Duty Cleaning Cloth
With the development of this new cloth Essity is aiming to reduce consumption, waste, pollution and emissions. The fact that the packaging is made from fibres which are 100% recycled and plastics that are at least 30% recycled, completes the sustainability picture for the customer.

Other nominees in this category were Maya Professional's Eversea Multipurpose Cloth and
Spectro's Ecodos Dosage Bottle

Smart Technologies & Digitalisation:

Category winner: Gausium Robotics' Scrubber 50 Pro
The Scrubber 50 Pro is a great reflection of how robotic technology in the cleaning sector is progressing. It is suitable for use in a wide range of applications in both small and medium-sized spaces and can negotiate obstacles well. It can even return to finish the job later! It uses AI to detect spills or stains and then spot cleans them automatically.

Other nominees in this category were Vileda Professional's Swep EviSense and LionsBot's R3Scrub

Workforce & Ergonomics:

Category winner: Arcora's Pu-Pad Light
Floor cleaning is one of the most time-consuming tasks performed by cleaning operatives and when cleaning different surfaces, pads often need to be changed. Operatives are sometimes unsure as to which pad is best and mistakes can happen. The Pu-Pad Light removes that uncertainty and there is also an ergonomic benefit for the operatives because they do not have to keep bending down to change pads.

Other nominees in this category were Kärchers BVL 5/1 BP and RCM's NexBot

Hygiene & Health:

Category winner: Coreless Centre Pull Paper Towel from Alani
It was felt that this product has the potential to make the greatest impact. Its environmental credentials and the fact that it absorbs 10 times its weight in water are also impressive. As it is coreless it reduces waste after use and lessens the amount of time needing to be spent on waste removal.

Other nominees in this category were Consensus's EnozoPRO and Ar-Co Chimica's Aladin GT5

Winner of Visitors' Choice Award:
In recent months fellow professionals and industry partners have been able to vote for their favourite innovation on the Interclean website. The nominee with the most public votes and therefore winner of the Visitors' Choice Award is Kärcher's BVL 5/1 BP.

As in previous years, the proceeds of the Innovation Awards are going to be donated to Amref Flying Doctors, to support its projects in Africa.
