Rustins acquires Peek premium polish portfolio

* Rustins-acquires-Peek.jpgRustins, a leading British manufacturer of wood finishes, speciality paints and performance cleaners that has been established for almost 100 years, has acquired the Peek portfolio of premium polishes for the UK and Europe.

Launched in 1990, Peek Polish quickly became recognised as a product that could be successfully used on a multitude of non-porous surfaces. A major selling point was that in 2005, manufacturer Tri-Peek International had been awarded the Royal Warrant as a purveyor of metal polish — after being used for years on the Royal Yacht Britannia and for various other jobs required by Buckingham Palace.

It was noted that “the multi-metal cleaner was proven able to cope with the full range of alloys aboard Britannia, removing all pollutants while being non-toxic, non-flammable and providing sealant protection.”

Since its launch, Peek Polish has been used by millions of people in businesses and households to clean, polish and restore metals and fibreglass on everything from boats, aeroplanes, and cars to housewares, hardware, sporting goods, and jewellery. The range was later developed to include Peek Spray Away - a non-abrasive foaming cleaner that alleviates the hard work when it comes to cleaning upholstery, tiles, carpets, glass, plastics, wood and vinyl.

Rustins produce its range at its factory in North London, using new materials and technologies whilst maintaining its heritage of excellence and quality. Its brands include Rustins, Briwax, Antiquax, Wudcare, Stones, Brummer, Heldite, Oven Mate, Bondaglass, Lord Sheraton, Big D, Hotspot and now of course, Peek. Each brand has its own formulations and products.

In addition to the UK market, Rustins exports to more than 30 countries.

“We are excited about the acquisition of Peek,” says Rustins head of sales Ian Slater. “This high quality, multi-surface, premium polish available in a range of sizes with its eye-catching packaging would stand out on any shelf. We look forward to combined administration and logistics to make it easier for merchants to stock Peek Polish and our sales team look forward to meeting Peek customers.”

Robert Peek, who developed Peek back in 1989, adds: “I had no doubt in my mind that Rustins was the right company to carry Peek Polish forward. Rustins and Peek have family-owned traditions that supply high quality products to both tradesperson and household customers. I wish them every success in the future.”
