Completing the Matrix

When Dennis Goodwin took up his position as global sales manager at Matrix Cleaning Systems recently, it must have felt a bit like 'coming home'. Why?

He'd launched Dimplex Cleaning Machines in Europe many years ago and when the business subsequently closed, Bob Pownall, the biggest partner, bought the manufacturing rights and tooling, and set up Matrix Cleaning Systems along with his daughter Natalie, 'from the ashes'. Thus, a delighted Dennis has effectively 'rejoined' the business after 17 years away!

A sales & marketing professional based in Banbury, Oxfordshire, UK, Dennis tells us his remit is to cement existing partnerships and to grow the business with a focus on North America, the Middle East and APAC countries where Matrix is seeking new partners.

'I have successfully opened distribution channels from scratch in the UK and continental Europe and have extensive knowledge and contacts in the UK cleaning and laundry marketplace,' he says. 'Having recruited and led sales teams of up to 30 people, I have a strong background in the management, training and mentoring of field-based sales personnel.'

Dennis brings many years' experience gained in the technical cleaning and laundry machine sectors of our industry to the role ' and not just with Dimplex, either. Prior to joining Matrix, he was sales manager UK, Ireland and Middle East at Victory Innovations, and prior to that, he was business development manager, UK, Ireland and Middle East, for the ISSA, where his role was to develop sales of ISSA's suite of training and management/business education products. Here he also assumed responsibility for writing and delivering training content around cleaning and disinfection during the pandemic and took ownership of the Supervisory Skills course for delivery, in person, to businesses across the region.

Other industry roles have seen Dennis at Hako Machines, Karcher UK, Tennant Company and Miele.
