Sasse awarded significant contract with Arriva Bus UK
Sasse Group UK has been awarded a £multi-million contract with Arriva Bus UK - following a competitive tender process - to provide cleaning, shunting, fuelling, and other support services to 24 bus depots and several outstations.
The contract portfolio encompasses four regions, spanning from Wales to the North West of England, North East, and Yorkshire, to include a fleet of 1,350 buses.
"We're really pleased to have this partnership with Sasse Group UK, who'll provide essential support services to our fleet,” says Phil Cummins, engineering director at Arriva UK Bus. “We care passionately about making our public transport system more reliable so our customers realise it's key to a greener, more sustainable future. But we cannot do this on our own, which is why we need strong partnerships like this one and we look forward to working together."
The contract will be characterised by the introduction of an entirely new digital concept and other innovative service solutions, implemented by an industry-experienced and success-driven management team. A close exchange with trade unions to help build a strong and well-trained workforce is also high on the agenda.
Benny Wunderlich, managing director at Sasse Group UK, says:
"This contract win is a real testament to our hard work over the last few years and the innovative service solutions we have introduced to our transport customers. To be awarded a contract of this size further demonstrates the trust and reputation we have built within the public transport sector.
“We would like to thank Arriva Bus UK for its confidence and look forward to building a long lasting and successful partnership."
Sasse Group UK has seen record-breaking growth in 2024 within its transport division. With this and further contract awards materialising by the end of 2024 and beginning of 2025, the company will progress to becoming one of the leading public transport cleaning & support services providers in the UK.
