Churchill lands three-year cleaning contract with Harbour Exchange
Cleaning firm Churchill has secured a three-year contract with grade A office space provider, Harbour Exchange, following a tender process.
Based in the prestigious South Quay area of London, Harbour Exchange is a prominent commercial campus comprising of 10 modern buildings that feature state-of-the-art facilities and flexible office spaces to accommodate a range of businesses. Churchill will provide services to three areas: HX1 and HX2 towers and Harbour Exchange Square Waterside Campus.
One of the key reasons for Churchill's win was its commitment to its people, best demonstrated by its Employee-owned Trust status. Harbour Exchange was also impressed by Churchill's accredited training and development programmes to its cleaning operatives. Another contributing factor was how Churchill's teams become part of the community in the buildings they work in - evidenced in other contracts in the Canary Wharf area.
Starting this month, Churchill will provide both horizontal and vertical cleaning, washroom services, pest control, and planned preventative maintenance. A team of 13 cleaners and support staff will work on this project. Churchill's account director, Charles Walden, will be leading the contract, supported by a dedicated account manager who has been working with Harbour Exchange for the past seven years.
"Harbour Exchange is an exciting and prestigious client,” says Charles. “As a provider that is well accustomed to the Canary Wharf area, we will ensure the best results for The Harbour Exchange and the surrounding communities. We are excited to implement our innovations to further enhance the buildings and support our team on site."
Anna O'Donnell, general manager at Harbour Exchange, on behalf of Colliers, managing agent, says the team is delighted to welcome Churchill to Harbour Exchange, and that: “As an Employee-owned Trust, we believe that they will deliver not only a best-in-class service but will be proactive in managing their respective team, alongside providing better security and progression for the fantastic team here at Harbour."
Churchill provides general, specialist, window and washroom cleaning services, in addition to grounds maintenance, pest control and waste management. It works in numerous sectors, including education, transport, shopping centres/retail parks, local councils, NHS Ambulance Trusts and housing associations. In August 2023, it became an Employee Ownership Trust. A controlling interest in the company has been transferred to an employee-owned trust which is then held for the benefit of employees.
