BICSc experts share industry insights at Clean & Tidy Home Show
Experts from the British Institute of Cleaning Science shared the latest cleaning industry insights and knowledge at this year's Clean & Tidy Home Show, which attracted thousands of visitors to ExCel, London, earlier this month.
As well as helping man the BICSc stand, the Institute’s group managing director, Neil Spencer-Cook, was joined by some of the BICSc who took part in presentations, Q&A sessions, and supported the Show's awards, with commercial director, Denise Hanson, taking part in the awards council to help highlight and select this year's worthy winners.
"It was fantastic to be keynote speakers at this year's Clean & Tidy Home Show, which was another successful event,” says Neil. “The BICSc team were delighted to have the opportunity to share our collective, extensive experience and knowledge with visitors to the show."
Kelsey Hargreaves, technical manager at BICSc, hosted numerous ‘Ask An Expert’ sessions throughout the two-day event, giving advice, top tips and information on some of the latest issues. Topics tackled included how to clean effectively while minimising environmental impact, showcasing sustainable practices, eco-friendly products, and strategies to promote a cleaner planet through responsible cleaning habits.
Additional Ask An Expert sessions presented by Kelsey included:
* Cleaning 101 - top tips and a comprehensive introduction to the principals, skills and techniques essential for effective cleaning
* Clean home, clear mind. Mental wellbeing & neurodiversity - focusing on the intricate relationship between a clean, organised home environment and mental wellbeing with a special focus on individuals with neurodiversity
* Kitchen cleaning checklist - to help achieve a 5-star looking kitchen including where to start, what order to clean in, and top tips for keeping on top of the workload
* Clean your bathroom: a step-by-step guide
* Troubleshooting - limescale, mould, mildew damage
* Myth-busting - exploring the science behind cleaning practices to debunk common myths, and unveiling evidence-based strategies for maintaining a clean and hygienic environment
* The hazards of chemical mixing
* Clean like a professional
* The cleaning cupboard for different lifestyles
With more than 63 years' experience, BICSc is the largest independent, professional and educational body within the cleaning industry, with over 66,000 individual and corporate members and over 29,000 training course enrolments this year.
