Tennant Company begins manufacturing T16AMR autonomous cleaning robots in Europe to meet rising demand
Tennant Company has this week announced that, for the first time, it will manufacture its renowned T16AMR autonomous robotic floor scrubber at its Uden manufacturing facility in the Netherlands.
The milestone marks the first of Tennant's Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) fleet to be locally manufactured in Europe, further strengthening the company's commitment to sustainability and to support growing regional demand and more efficiently deliver exceptional customer experiences and local support.
The T16AMR, powered by Brain Corp's cutting-edge BrainOS AI technology, delivers a differentiated high-performance autonomous cleaning tailored to the rigorous demands of industrial and commercial facilities. Through local manufacturing in Uden, Tennant can offer improved lead times on the machine, reduced environmental impact from transportation, and a more responsive approach to the specific needs of the European market.
"This is an exciting chapter for Tennant as we expand our AMR production into Europe for the first time," says Sylvain Rottier, VP & general manager of Tennant EMEA. "By producing the T16AMR in Uden, we can significantly reduce logistical complexities, better support regional distributors, and ensure quicker delivery to our European customers. This also aligns with our sustainability goals by cutting the carbon footprint associated with transatlantic transportation."
The Uden facility, Tennant's primary manufacturing hub for EMEA, has been producing legacy floor cleaning machines for many years and has now been equipped to manufacture the T16AMR. This development builds on Tennant's extensive expertise and reinforces its position as a leading player in robotic cleaning technology within the European market.
Michel Spruijt, president at Brain Corp International, says: "This announcement reflects a pivotal moment for automation and robotics in Europe. The decision to manufacture the T16AMR locally not only underscores Tennant's commitment to innovation but also highlights the importance of meeting growing regional demand for autonomous solutions.
“By integrating BrainOS into these locally-produced robots, Tennant is enabling businesses across Europe to adopt smarter, more efficient cleaning operations while driving sustainable practices."
The T16AMR, says Tennant, remains unmatched in its category, offering cutting-edge navigation technology, exceptional cleaning efficiency, and seamless adaptability to diverse operational environments. Next to having the benefit of having its data stored in the EU, every T16AMR sold in Europe will now proudly carry the hallmark of local production.
