Sutter acquires Spanish company Nitida Cleaning & Health
Producing and marketing cleaning & hygiene products for over five generations, multinational company with an Italian heart - Sutter Group, has finalised an agreement to acquire Spanish company Nitida Cleaning & Health S.A.
Nitida specialises in the production and distribution of chemical cleaning & hygiene products for professional environments, with a manufacturing facility located in Valencia.
Through this agreement, Sutter acquires brands, know-how, production facility, warehouse and customer portfolio, as well as the entire range of products available in the Spanish market. This will provide significant penetration across much of the country and effectively double Sutter's revenue in the Iberian market.
Founded in 2003, Nitida is a leader in the Iberian market, offering high-quality products at premium prices primarily for the healthcare sector, HoReCa (Hotels, Restaurants & Cafés) and industrial laundries. Due to its history, investment in R&D, environmental sensitivity and innovation capabilities, Nitida Cleaning & Health aligns perfectly with the growth strategy that the Sutter Group has established for the Iberian market. With this acquisition, Sutter becomes one of the most significant players in the Spanish professional market, facilitating coverage of geographical areas that were previously less served. The Iberian Peninsula effectively becomes the second 'home market' for Sutter, with promising prospects for further expansion in terms of new customers and revenue.
This operation marks the first time Sutter Group has expanded beyond national borders, following two significant acquisitions made in Italy involving the General and Neutromed brands, both acquired from Henkel. It also reaffirms the strategy initiated in 2021 of gradually broadening the Group's scope through the selection and integration of historic brands with high growth potential, both in Italy and internationally.
The Sutter Group has doubled its revenue over the last three years, recording revenues of 120 million euros in 2024, thanks to internal growth and successful acquisitions. Sutter employs 230 people and produces at its plant in Borghetto di Borbera (AL), exporting to the EU, South America, and the Middle East. Over the past five years, the organisation has invested approximately nine million euros to support its development plan and the integration of new productions.
"The direct entry into the Iberian Peninsula market through the acquisition of Nitida represents an important step in our company's development plan, which aims for a significant increase in revenue over the next three years," emphasises Aldo Sutter, president and CEO. "Market dynamics and increasing competition offer us opportunities for acquisition and integration of entities that align with our corporate culture of doing business and innovating in the market. As with the two previous acquisitions, we have identified Nitida Cleaning & Health as a coherent and valuable reality for our strategy of penetrating international markets. With this operation, we are doubling our revenue in the Spanish professional market. Recent years confirm the dynamism with which we identify potential companies that can be perfectly integrated into our reality, and with which the Group grows in revenue, product range, and customer base. This trend is one we intend to continue in the coming years."
Once fully operational, Nitida and Sutter Professional, operating independently while leveraging each other's know-how, will be able to double the Group's revenue, with an overall target (consumer goods and professional market) of reaching 200 million in revenue over the next three years.
The operation has been coordinated internally by Francesco Cristiano, director of Legal & Corporate Affairs, Marco D'Apice, general manager - Professional Division, and Claudia Delle Donne, CFO.
