Chemical-free floor stripping in just one pass

Factory Cat's Sean Goff showed visitors to CMS Berlin how easy it is to use the new Tomcat Edge family of machines, which offer chemical-free floor stripping in just one pass. This, explained Sean, reduces the volume of water needed for the process and also reduces the potential for slips and falls that can be a problem when chemicals are used and residues are left behind.

"You can help the environment while saving money and just use water to remove the floor finish," explained Sean. "The Edge system, combined with our maroon 'Prep Pad' prepares a floor for quick and easy recoat.

"We've calculated that the system offers up to 70% reduction in water/chemical usage as Edge's oscillating head doesn't fling water away from the cleaning area, so less water is required to clean. This also increases operator productivity as less time is spent filling the machine.

"It also offers an increased run time: The oscillating system on Edge uses less energy than disk units for longer run time per charge."

John and I particularly liked Edge's rectangular shape, which offers equal dwell time across the pad width, unlike round pads. And of course the square corner allows the Edge to clean into corners and against baseboards more easily and efficiently than round pads can.
