Ramon Hygiene mop innovation recognised at FPA Awards
Ramon Hygiene Products has been named a joint winner of the Back of House Product Innovation Award at the Foodservice Packaging Association Awards, which recognise practical innovation within the foodservice supply chain.
The company received recognition for its Trinity Socket Mop System - a patented innovation designed to address a long-standing challenge in traditional mop design, as featured in Cleanzine in January.
In many professional cleaning environments, different handle systems require different mop sockets. As a result, distributors and end users often need to carry multiple product variants to accommodate the various fittings in circulation. The Trinity socket has been developed to work with several widely used handle formats, including Exel, Interchange and most commercial threaded and wooden handles.
By facilitating compatibility across multiple systems, the design allows a single socket to replace several traditional alternatives. For janitorial distributors, this can help reduce product complexity while maintaining flexibility for customers working with existing equipment.
The socket is now used across Ramon Hygiene’s traditional mop range, including Hygiene, PY, Twine and Non-Woven mop types. Each is available in multiple weights and five colour options to support the colour-coding systems commonly used in all cleaning practices.
The manufacturer says that the system was developed with input from distributors and professional cleaning users, with a focus on reduced plastic content, simplicity and compatibility with existing equipment.
All Trinity socket mops are manufactured in the UK at the company’s Leicestershire facility, with the manufacturer having recently invested in expanding its mop manufacturing capabilities, reinforcing its commitment to domestic production and supporting supply for distributors.
“This award recognises a practical innovation that addresses a challenge the industry has lived with for a long time,” says Carl Kozimor, the company’s head of product & marketing. “By creating a socket that works across multiple handle systems, Trinity offers a simpler approach for distributors and cleaning teams without requiring them to change the equipment they already use.”
