Christeyns expands its Health & Safety team

* Christeyns_Matthew-Fairless.jpegBradford-based hygiene specialist Christeyns puts health & safety first as it boosts its on-site team with the addition of a new health & safety officer.

Matthew Fairless (pictured) joined Christeyns at its headquarters on Rutland Street, Bradford last month, as health, safety, security & environment officer, HSSE, responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring policies to ensure that the site operates safely and is fully compliant with both company and UK regulatory standards.

Reporting to group health & safety manager, he will contribute to risk assessments, carry out workplace inspections, review safe systems of work and support the reporting and investigation of incidents. A key focus of the role is partnering with teams across the site to spot potential hazards early, strengthen controls and provide coaching and guidance to promote safe working behaviours.

"We are delighted to welcome Matthew to Christeyns and to our Health & Safety team," says Justin Kerslake, the company’s operations director. “As we continue to grow, our commitment to a proactive safety culture becomes even more important. Matthew's expertise will play a key role in ensuring our health, safety and environment standards remain top priority."

Family-owned and run, Christeyns puts its people at the heart of its operations. Its Health & Safety, Environmental & Quality policy confirms the firm's ongoing commitment to the highest standards of HSSE in all its operations protecting all those on site and ensuring colleagues, contractors and visitors are kept safe at all times.

Investing heavily in training and resources, Christeyns targets zero workplace injuries, focusing on hazard identification, risk mitigation and compliance with ISO, QHSE and other regulations.
