Spotless generates 40% increase in annual revenues

* Spotless.jpegEdinburgh-headquartered Spotless Commercial Cleaning has increased annual revenues by more than 40% in its latest financial results released this week. The company, which now employs more than 2,000 staff across the UK, generated turnover of £31m, up from £20m in the previous year, and recorded a net profit of £1.2m.

The latest results come amid significant economic and regulatory challenges in the UK market where Spotless continues to set high standards as a leading employer within the sector.

A series of recent acquisitions in the northwest, Midlands and south of England, combined with organic growth across the UK market, has helped drive forward revenues at Spotless. Last year's purchase of Midlands firm Eco-Clean and Maintenance was among five commercial cleaning businesses it has acquired since 2022.

While achieving financial success, the company has maintained a sharp focus on high standards of customer service and a strong commitment towards staff development. Spotless retains employees for an average 5.1 years of service, significantly higher than the industry average of between one and two years.

Spotless was founded in 1988 by Roger Green while he was attending university in Edinburgh. The company began as a small local cleaning company servicing businesses in Edinburgh and has now grown to become a nationwide commercial cleaning company with clients across all regions of the UK.

"We are really pleased with these financial results which underline the resilience of our business as it continues to grow despite some of the underlying economic and legislative challenges facing the UK, says Roger, who is now chairman. “Through a combination of organic growth and our ongoing acquisition strategy, we continue to develop our business across all regions of the country.

"I believe our success has come on the back of two fundamental areas: delivering the highest standards of service for our clients and our continuing focus on being an industry-leading employer. Our commitment to our people is not only the right thing to do but it's also been good for business. With staff retention rates at Spotless that are significantly higher than the industry average, we continue to develop a motivated team who take great pride in service delivery.

"I'm confident that we have adopted the right approach that will deliver further growth for the business across the UK."
