Idrobase accelerates growth with ITM Italia acquisition
Idrobase, the Padua, Italy-based specialist in components as well as the manufacture of pressure washers and misting systems, has acquired the cleaning division of the Verona-based ITM Italia.
From July 31st, ITM - founded in 1981 and headquartered in Lazise sul Garda - will cease production, transferring its brand, customer base, sales network and production molds to the Borgoricco-based group. This move allows Idrobase to enter the professional pressure washer market, building on its established success in industrial machinery; no workforce absorption is planned, as the employees have already been redeployed.
"This operation," explains Idrobase Group co-owner Bruno Ferrarese, "allows us to acquire know-how we previously lacked: specifically, the technology for pressure washer water heaters. We will now be able to manufacture them at our plant in the Veneto region, controlling the supply chain and reducing costs. This will boost the competitiveness of our machinery - just as we achieved with components and accessories - and, as of this year, with Dolly Pumps.
Idrobase now expects a 25% increase in Idrobase Group's turnover by 2027; the figure currently stands at 15 million euros.
Next year should also see the actual launch of licensed Dolly Pumps'production in Algeria, with a view to expanding the Idrobase brand into the African market.
Idrobase co-owner Bruno Gazzignato, who is currently finalising the company's organisational restructuring through the implementation of Lean methodology and Artificial Intelligence, adds:
"The ITM brand will continue to exist with its own catalogue, targeting a specific market segment."
