Prochem answers holiday parks’ quick-turnaround cleaning and drying needs

Holiday parks in the UK are ramping up to meet increased demand this Summer, as more Brits are either being forced to - or are choosing to, holiday at home rather than travel overseas for their annual break this year.

Parks face considerations outside those of most residential operators face, including getting cleaning issues in caravans and chalets solved simply, efficiently and quickly. One national holiday park in Norfolk is getting caravan cleaning turned around in good time thanks to Acle, Norfolk-based Hugh Crane Cleaning Equipment.

Asked to supply a cleaning system that could manage both the cleaning of carpets and of upholstery, sales manager William Crane recommended Prochem’s Steempro Powermax for its reliability and ease of use.

"I knew that due to its robust build the Steempro was ideal for the holiday park cleaning team as they often have to push the machine between caravans and chalets across what can be uneven ground,” explains William. “The goal of the Steempro Powermax was to reduce the need to lift other, smaller machines in and out of the caravans by running the extra hose lengths. This has prevented operator fatigue, machine damage and dramatically improved cleaning standards.

Use of the Steempro along with the Sapphire Upholstery Pro quick dry tool, also improved drying times on the upholstery cleaning - and, therefore, turnaround times, which had been a major issue for the cleaning team.

William took one of the machines for an on-site demonstration at one of the Norfolk parks, and promptly received an order for several units along with accessories such as extension hoses and upholstery cleaning tools.

The Steempro Powermax is one of Prochem's best-known and well-regarded carpet and fabric extraction cleaning machines, boasting a 35-litre solution tank, twin 5.7in. vacuum motors and a powerful 200psi pump.

Predicts William: "Looking ahead, we anticipate business growth from the UK leisure sector as operators prepare for more consumer demand in the coming months and consequently face increased need for cleaning and hygiene of these environments."
