All clean at Northampton College

Norse Commercial Services has kicked off 2012 by announcing the award of a contract to provide the cleaning at Northampton College.

The three-year contract, worth approximately £350K per year, started on 1st January.

Cleaning operations cover the three College sites, with staff transferring from the two incumbent contractors thereby consolidating the services under one provider.

Cleaning is carried out on a daily basis, augmented by periodic 'deep' cleaning.

"We are looking forward to working with Norse because its knowledge of the public sector gives the team a natural understanding of the budgetary pressures the Education sector is facing, and the need to achieve greater efficiencies," says Bob York, Northampton College Deputy Director of Estates.

"We look forward to seeing how its innovative and imaginative approach to cleaning and security management will achieve the cost reduction programme the company has outlined. The College looks forward to working with Norse in a successful partnership that delivers excellent standards of cleanliness in safe and secure surroundings."

Sales Director Geoff Tucker says: "This is a significant addition to our educational cleaning operations. It was one of the hardest fought tenders we have ever submitted and we are really looking forward to working with such a prestigious college."

The College, one of the largest in the region, has approximately 13,000 learners and employs over 1,000 full and part time staff.

"This is the first of a number of high-profile contracts and expansion plans that Norse will be announcing over the coming months," Geoff adds. "building on all areas of the company's growing reputation, both within Eastern England and other regions across the UK."
