New Eco-Friendly Washcloth saves money and the environment

Synergy Health has launched the economical and eco-friendly Essentials Washcloth. This maceratable, single-use, dry cleansing wipe is part of the company's new value range of patient hygiene products, aimed at saving both money and the environment.

This cost-effective product is a heavyweight dry wipe and is highly absorbent, with high wet strength. It is manufactured from a highly durable, strong material, which is easily macerated. This will help NHS Trusts to minimise waste and reduce the high cost of waste disposal, while complying with legislation and meeting sustainability targets.

The wipe's maceration performance has been tested by macerator specialist The Haigh Engineering Company. Nick Dale, Haigh Sales Manager, says: "Thorough testing has shown that the new Essentials Washcloths successfully disintegrate into minute fragments when macerated in our Haigh machines and then flush down the drains with the waste water. This is an environmentally friendly product that will save managers money on clinical waste disposal."

Comprising airlaid tissue - made from 100% certified renewable sources - this is the latest biodegradable product to join the patient hygiene portfolio. It lathers well with soap and water, or can be used with cleansing foams, and its softness makes it suitable for sensitive skin. It complements Synergy Health's established Conti range of dry patient wipes, providing even greater choice for reliable and effective patient cleansing and continence care. The Conti Washcloth can also be macerated.
