BICSc celebrates outstanding year at Annual Awards Dinner and Golf Day

BICSc-winner.jpgThe British Institute of Cleaning Science hosted its Annual Awards Dinner and Golf Day last Thursday at the Marriot Forest of Arden Hotel, Birmingham. The successful event celebrated excellence in accredited training and assessment within the industry, and honoured those who have made a definitive contribution to both the Institute and the industry.

The welcoming drinks reception, sponsored by Metsa Tissue & Push, was followed by the awards presentation hosted by BICSc Council Member, Mike Henderson. The formal proceedings were followed by musical entertainment from The Dollars.

Award Winners:

The BICSc Award for Excellence in Training & Assessment within an Accredited Training Establishment, sponsored by Darwin Clayton, recognised the commitment to training within a prison. The winner of the award was HMP Wayland Prison.
The BICSc Award for Excellence in Training & Assessment within an Accredited Training Organisation, sponsored by BBS, rewarded the delivery of BICSc assessment schemes and training course direct to employed staff at Aramark Northern Ireland.
The BICSc Outstanding Student of the Year Award, sponsored by Asset Skills, was awarded to Ellen Jones of Kusco, for her determination and willingness to succeed by going above the level of training and education required to further her knowledge and understanding of the industry.
The BICSc International Award for Outstanding Performance in the Promotion of the Institute was awarded to Aspire Logistics from Qatar for its continued commitment to the Institute and its mission statement.
The Doreen Heyes Award for Accredited Training Provision within Hospital Trusts recognised the provision of BICSc training at Leicester Royal Infirmary.
The Arthur Ayres Award was awarded to BICSc Midlands for its hard work and successful membership growth over the past year.
The Sholom Gordon Award - the Institute's premier award, was presented to Mary Schramm for her outstanding service to the Institute and the cleaning industry.
The awards evening would not have been possible without the support of a number of companies - and in particular, headline sponsors Bunzl and LCC Support Services. As well as all the Awards sponsors mentioned previously, Lonsdale Direct was responsible for the print material.
