LCC Support Services signs up for ICE's new rental model

Industrial Cleaning Equipment , the Southampton-based cleaning equipment and service specialist, has welcomed LCC Support Services as a valued new client - in what is believed to be a groundbreaking 'first' for the industry.

ICE has now become LCC's sole floor cleaning equipment supplier, thanks to a specially devised rental model that offers a number of benefits when compared to outright purchase schemes - such as no depreciation of assets or big capital outlay. ICE's rental model will strengthen the management of LCC's assets across its entire estate, which is already substantial and growing further, with £8.5m of new business achieved last year by the Southern-based cleaning and support services provider.

The agreement is the result of months of detailed work - which was even given its own code name, 'Project Simplify'. ICE worked with LCC to understand all the challenges that the business faced and in particular, how problems such as downtime through servicing or repairs could be anticipated and solved.

The five-year contract will see ICE buying back all of LCC's existing equipment, which will be refurbished and recycled. This will be replaced entirely by Cleanfix machines, providing consistency for LCC employees in terms of product knowledge and training needs.

"I was looking for a complete solution, one where my team doesn't have to worry about PAT testing or maintenance, because it is all taken care of," says Bob Vincent, Executive Chairman of LCC Support Services. "LCC will have one relationship manager who will be our primary point of contact, and ICE will be training our people in the field and providing technical support. Because we will only have Cleanfix machines across all our contracts, supervisors and workers moving between sites will not have to be retrained in another manufacturer's machinery.

"This model makes good business sense and is a pioneering step for the industry. By combining corporate capabilities with a commitment to providing the highest levels of customer service, LCC has attained a wealth of prestigious clients and industry-recognised awards along the way. I feel sure that this agreement with ICE will help LCC to progress and expand even further over the coming years."

Mark Bresnihan, Managing Director of ICE, says: "ICE is proud to have LCC Support Services as a client, being such a well-respected and successful name in the cleaning and FM industries. Our five-year agreement is the culmination of months of extremely hard work for teams in both companies, but I think it has resulted in a truly innovative approach that works for us both.

"From our initial discussions, it soon became clear that if the rental model was to work, one single supplier would have to deliver the whole package - providing a consistent range of products, backed by a comprehensive support, service, maintenance and compliance regime.

"We will continue to develop this model and make it part of the ICE offering, enabling other contract cleaning companies to manage their estates more effectively and efficiently, and improve their service delivery."
