Avoid the perils of window cleaning in frozen wintery conditions

* window_abseiling.jpgLondon-based Spectrum Window Cleaning, says its specialist commercial window cleaning services are better tailored to overcome the challenges of the cold winter weather and that its tried and tested systems deliver superior results in all weather conditions, providing end users with faster and longer-lasting results.

Window cleaning in frozen conditions takes real care when it comes to health & safety - especially when working at height is part of the job. Facilities or property managers need to ensure that contractors have the correct insurance coverage in place and that safety procedures are followed; also, adequately experienced staff in sufficient numbers should be employed to avoid the risk of injury to contractor staff or members of the public. Spectrum's wide experience ensures that it is well placed to provide all the support required by property managers or can act as a support partner to commercial cleaning companies in London.

The main issues caused by frozen conditions include the added risk of slippery surfaces, and frozen water that damages equipment that is not adequately maintained for the cold conditions, which consequently increases the length of time it takes to complete a job. With clients often impatient and a fast turnaround desired, a tried and tested approach is required that will ensure faster turnarounds and a longer lasting clean look for clients.

Spectrum maintains the highest health & safety standards and ensures that its entire staff of abseiling window cleaners are IRATA certificated and hold CSCS cards. IRATA - the main governing international body for industrial rope access in commercial abseiling, requires the highest safety standards for contractors employing this method of cleaning, and makes special mention of safety standards in cold conditions when the risks are greater.

"Our customers really appreciate the peace of mind of using a specialist window cleaning company, experienced in all weather conditions, with the health & safety certification and procedures," says the company. "This is especially so when high rise cleaning increases the risk of injury.

"All sites that require high rise or abseiling window cleaning services will have to have a thorough survey inspection to produce detailed risk and method assessments. Spectrum window cleaners provide free quotations and advice to those thinking of instructing a company to clean windows in freezing or cold conditions."
