ISS Sweden continues cooperation with Kalmar County Hospital
ISS and Kalmar County Council in Sweden have signed an agreement valued at more than SEK 50 million, which means ISS will deliver cleaning services to the County Hospital in Kalmar for the coming years.
Kalmar County Council covers the entire county and is responsible for healthcare, dental care, as well as some education. Kalmar County Hospital is one of Sweden's 20 county hospitals and consists of 18 different specialist clinics that perform treatments in all medical fields. The contact will run until September 2016 with the possibility of renewal for up to three years and will employ approximately 45 employees.
ISS is a major supplier to the Swedish healthcare industry and delivers services to hundreds of medical centres and several hospitals such as Sunderbyn Hospital in Luleå, Carlanderska Hospital in Gothenburg, Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm, Uppsala University Hospital and the University Hospital in Linköping.
ISS has worked with Kalmar County Hospital since 1993 and with the new contract will have responsibility for the daily cleaning, periodic cleaning, floorcare and window cleaning of about 125,000 square meters of floor space. The County Hospital offers both emergency and planned care around the clock. It cares for about 20,000 people a year in more than 100,000 days of care. It also has to cope with more than 350,000 patient visits.
