Energy efficiency on agenda at Facilities Show 2013

* facilities_show.jpgWith UK energy regulator Ofgem reporting at the end of 2012 in its first annual Electricity Capacity Assessment that Britain risks running out of its energy capacity margin in the Winter of 2015-16, the need for strategic energy efficiency plan has never been more apparent for businesses. The Facilities Show 2013 will this year, within its dedicated free-to-attend educational Energy Management Theatre, address the most pressing issues around driving down energy costs, efficiency strategies and engaging the workforce.

The Facilities Show 2013 will take place at Birmingham's NEC from 14th - 16th May, providing a unique event for the industry with all aspects of FM covered, including FM solutions, business continuity, leadership and strategy, operations, environmental sustainability, finance, technology and best practice.

A highlight of the show will be the Energy Management Theatre, whichwill provide a full programme across the three days dedicated to helping FM professionals meet their energy needs. A range of case studies, lively debates and presentations will cover everything from achieving buy-in, to energy savings, to demystifying the role of behaviour change in energy management, to key drivers of energy efficiency and the plan to make it happen.

Speakers already confirmed to take part include Matt Fulford, Head of Low Carbon Buildings for Sustain, Allan Barton, Global Waste Business Leader at Arup, Dr Andy Lewry, Principal Consultant for the Sustainable Energy Team at BRE and Myles McCarthy, Managing Director of the Carbon Trust Implementation Services, amongst many others.

Each day a lunchtime discussion will bring together energy professionals to debate key topics including the best ways to achieve energy efficiency now and in the future, delivering energy efficiency - getting your company and staff engaged and how energy management can really make a difference.

"The Energy Management Theatre returns with one of the most comprehensive schedules we have run to date," promises Fergus Bird, Event Manager for Facilities Show. "With this programme we have really focused on the most pressing energy and sustainability issues facing facilities managers today, with practical solutions and case studies that we hope will inspire and really make a difference to energy efficiency."

Visitors interested in attending across the three days can now register for their free visitor pass to the most comprehensive show of its kind, bringing together Facilities, Estates and Property Managers with suppliers from across the full spectrum of the FM supply chain.

As part of Protection & Management Week, Facilities Show 2013 is co-located with the leading annual safety and health event, Safety & Health Expo and the world's largest annual security event, IFSEC. In 2013 FIREX International will also be co-located.

The Facilities Show has now become the must attend event for anyone in the profession.
