A rare work ethic!

John Newins of OCS accepts his award for Window Cleaner of the year 2013. The certificate says: 'for Industry achievements and time served'. In the UK and no doubt other parts of the world, 'time served' generally refers to the number of years and weeks an offender has spent in prison!

Work has clearly not been like a prison sentence for John though, who in 44 years of service, has, incredibly, never taken a day off sick! He is shown here (left) with Scott Smith of the Federation of Window Cleaners.

Although John's work ethic impressed the judges and - from the ripple of comments that greeted the announcement - the assembled show visitors, it may be that this is not an industry record. If you, or one of your colleagues or employees can beat John's record of not having a day off sick in 44 years, we'd love to hear from you! A rare work ethic!
