I mentioned in last week’s leader that this week’s issue would carry an interview with Martin Scott, who used to be the face of the UK Cleaning Show and who many claim has split the industry by launching The Cleaning Expo into the slot left by BCCE (British Cleaning Council Exhibitions) when it decided to move the Cleaning Show from Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre to London’s Excel, for 2015.
It’s clear from many of your comments that there is a great deal of confusion and misinformation surrounding these moves so my job has been to set the record straight and I’m hoping that I’ve managed to do that in this interview published below.
To say that my ‘phone has been ‘ringing off the hook’ with people wanting to discuss the whys and wherefores of both Martin’s decision and the British Cleaning Council’s wish to move the Cleaning Show to London is something of an understatement, so please accept my apologies for the late arrival of today’s issue.
I’m hoping to be able to speak with representatives from the BCC over the coming days with a view to running a further article on these changes in next week’s issue, which should allow readers to make an informed decision about what to do next.
In the meantime, following our Pulire Finale issue last week, we have reverted to showing previous UK and other international news temporarily dislodged by news from Verona.
