TC Facilities Management acquires Equinox Security Management

TCFM-Equinox.jpgTC Facilities Management has acquired London-based security business, Equinox Security Management, for an undisclosed consideration.

The acquisition takes immediate effect but Equinox will continue to operate using the same name and management team, although under the TCFM’s umbrella.

“This is a truly significant move for us,” enthuses Paul Kennedy, Chief Executive Officer of TCFM. “We have bought a company with great talent, value adding systems and a proven track record. It is privately owned with outstanding levels of customer service, significant skill base and a good client retention record, making it a perfect fit with TC Facilities Management and our service ethos.

“The purchase is a key element of TC Facilities Management’s UK expansion programme and puts us on track to hit strategic FM service, growth and acquisition targets for 2013 and beyond. It is an exciting time for the business and we would not rule out additional acquisitions in the future.”

The acquisition of Equinox, which has clients in the retail, shopping centre, events, business and industry sectors, will help propel TCFM closer to achieving its ‘Big Hairy Audacious Goal’ (BHAG): ‘to deliver integrated facilities management services brilliantly well, continually adapting and innovating to our customers’ changing needs’.

The purchase also further strengthens the Surrey-based FM company’s geographic presence across the UK.

TC works with many high performing organisations, including Tesco, which it has been looking after for over 50 years. It currently services over 1,100 of the retailer’s stores and although it already delivers security solutions to Tesco using a

Preferred Service Provider, the acquisition of Equinox will enable it to explore previously untapped markets.

Equinox Managing Director, Steve Boyden, says: “The acquisition been seamless and it is very much business as usual. The news has been well received by the company’s staff and customers. We have taken the time to fully explain the details to them and they understand that there will be no front-line management changes.”

TCFM offers bespoke service solutions from cleaning of single locations to a fully integrated FM programme covering catering, ground maintenance, pest control, security, washroom and waste management. Established since 1962, the privately-owned company has a turnover of £66million and boasts a 6000-strong workforce. The company holds IS09001, ISO14001 and BS OHSAS 18001 accreditations and is a member of the Cleaning & Support Services Association and the British Institute of Cleaning Science.
