- Nilfisk division of Nilfisk-Advance GmbH

* Nilfisk-award-pic.jpgNilfisk division of Nilfisk-Advance GmbH, was one of the other winners in the Machinery category, for the VL500 75-2 EDF wet-dry vacuum cleaner, which has a dual filter system. This provides for user-friendly operation on both dry and wet surfaces without requiring the filters to be changed - a reason cited by the judging panel for Nilfisk's win.

Launched at Pulire, Verona, this VL500 series wet/dry vacuum cleaning machine has been built to simplify cleaning for women. Its beauty is in the pivot system designed to make emptying easy; it uses the weight of the head to provide the gravitational pull required to tilt the drum to the angle needed to drain the contents. It makes cleaning faster, safer and less tiring for the operator.

"Productivity is increased further thanks to the dual filtration system, as the operator does not have to change the filter according to the material to be pumped," explained Monika Nyendick. "The same filter can be used for both the powders and liquids and when the filter does eventually need to be changed, the operator does not need to remove the cylinder head."

Also, thanks to the tilting system, the operator can empty a heavier tank (75litre capacity) without effort, and without removing the engine head.
