Boat hull cleaning made easy!

* hull-cleaning.jpgShip owners need to keep their hulls free from marine fouling to optimise vessel performance, but that can be a challenge at a time when ever more stringent environmental restrictions limit the use of biocides in antifouling paints, safety laws demand minimal risks and businesses are under pressure to keep costs down.

That need for an environmentally friendly and cost-effective hull cleaning solution is met by GAC EnvironHull's brushless cleaning technology using the HullWiper Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV).

HullWiper uses seawater under high pressure as the cleaning medium instead of brushes or abrasives, resulting in minimal damage to the antifouling surface. It also incorporates a cleaning control system which allows the operator to easily control water pressure and monitor the cleaning process through forward and aft facing CCTV cameras. The need to employ divers for the cleaning job is therefore eliminated, cutting operational costs and the risk to human life.

Residues and harmful marine are collected in a special waste filter unit connected with the ROV, then disposed in an environmentally-friendly manner instead of being discharged into the sea as is done using traditional methods.

The entire process is in line with the GAC Group's stringent Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE) and compliance policies as well as all local and regional environmental regulations.
