Mrs Bucket mops up Welsh school cleaning contract

* rachael-and-PM.jpgAward-winning cleaning contractor 'Mrs Bucket' has secured its largest contract to date; a six-figure deal to provide daily cleaning at the Olchfa Comprehensive school in Swansea - the second largest comprehensive school in Wales and home to more than 1,900 pupils.

The business, which has offices in Swansea, Cardiff and Newport, was awarded the contract following a competitive tender against companies from across South Wales.

"We're delighted to have won the contract with Olchfa Comprehensive School as it is a fantastic opportunity for our team," Kim Hurlow, area manager at Mrs Bucket told WalesOnline. "Educational establishments have particular requirements when it comes to their cleanliness - which is especially true for Olchfa as it has such a large number of students - so maintaining a clean environment is essential to their health and wellbeing. As a result, we conduct regular spot checks to ensure the areas are being thoroughly cleaned consistently."

Managing Director Rachael Flanagan, who set up Mrs Bucket Cleaning Services in 2005 at the age of 18, added: "Winning the Olchfa Comprehensive School contract as a massive achievement for Mrs Bucket as it is our largest contract to date. The education sector is a real focus in our business development strategy.

"This is our second school to come on board but is our largest contract to date and will require 19 cleaners per day to fulfil the cleaning needs. We're well placed to provide cleaning solutions to the education market as all of our staff are CRB checked as a matter of course. We're hoping the experience will help us win future contracts in this target market."

Mrs Bucket doubled its turnover in 2012, growing by 114%. It also secured a record-breaking £130,000 worth of contracts in September 2013, while still boasting a 98% customer retention rate.
