Croke Park and Ryans are a team

* Croke-park.jpgThe iconic Croke Park Stadium in Dublin along with venue and event cleaning specialist Ryans Cleaning, have announced a five-year partnership deal.

With a capacity of 82,300, Croke Park is the home of the Gaelic Games and the headquarters of the Gaelic Athletic Association, and this year stages other major events including One Direction and Garth Brooks concerts and the Croke Park Classic - an American college football game.

The partnership brings together two leaders in their respective fields, with Croke Park known as the fourth largest stadium in Europe and the one of the first stadiums in the world to be awarded ISO 14001 and ISO 20121 certifications and Ryans Cleaning the first company to hold all four of the standards ISO 9001, IS014001, OHSAS 18001 and ISO 20121.

"As a partner we want to ensure we can deliver a sustainable project every time through to the recycling of all waste,2 says Pat Ryan, chairman of Ryans Cleaning. "We want to help Croke Park continue to be one of the foremost venues in sustainable event management in the world.

"Winning this contract is further evidence of our commitment to sustainability and what it means. We and the Croke Park team are all behind this venture so we have no doubt of its success."

Alan Gallagher, Head of Stadium Operations for Croke Park, adds: "We and Ryans have a lot of synergies and beliefs in how we work and what we are aiming to achieve so we look forward to a long and constructive relationship, particularly in achieving our sustainability objectives."

Ryans Cleaning has provided services to some of the most memorable events of the last 25 years, including the London Olympics, BT London Live and the Queen's Jubilee in Hyde Park.

Croke Park's sustainability objectives include a reduction in energy consumption, increasing recycling, community engagement, minimising the environmental impact of events on and off the field and encouraging environmentally responsible development and staging of events.

Ryans Cleaning employs more than 40 people full-time and 1,000-plus part-time staff serving the requirements of fixed venues, international events, trade shows and exhibitions as well as commercial, office and industrial premises in the UK and Ireland.
