Duct Doctor USA successfully completes Salt Lake City GSA contract

* Duct-Dr.jpgDuct Doctor USA, a veteran-owned small business, recently completed the cleaning of the Heating Ventilation & Air Conditioning (HVAC) ductwork at the 353,135 square-foot Wallace F. Bennett Federal Building located in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah. The work was contracted through the General Services Administration's Federal Supply Schedule programme and required two trucks and six workers on-site for 60 days.

"This was a complex task that required us to pull together resources from several regions of the US, and I'm proud that we completed the work sooner than promised and on budget," says Christopher J. Little, president of Duct Doctor USA.

"It's a great example of the kind of work Duct Doctor USA wants to do for Federal agencies around the country."

Federal agencies can procure Duct Doctor USA's air duct cleaning services at pre-competed rates through the GSA contract, maximising the value of tax dollars spent on maintenance while decreasing total building energy consumption. Proper maintenance is critical in extending the life of their onsite air-handling equipment and improving the overall indoor air quality for their valued employees.

Studies by the University of Colorado Boulder, at its Larson Building Systems Laboratory, show that the removal of debris inside ductwork and the cleaning of the impacted cooling coils can reduce the running time of HVAC systems by as much as 30%.

"Clean duct work and air-handling equipment directly correlates with long-term savings in energy costs, reducing a facility's carbon footprint and improving the working environment for employees," says Christopher Little. "Using the GSA schedule to acquire these services means facility managers can easily attain these benefits and savings."

The award and successful completion of contract GS-P-08-13-VE-0007 enhances Duct Doctor USA's longstanding reputation for delivering quality service to government customers. Duct Doctor USA has been previously selected for award on Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Internal Revenue Service and Department of Homeland Security service projects.

Duct Doctor USA has maintained superior corporate performance in providing ground facilities and ship-based air duct and dryer-vent cleaning services, as well as indoor air-quality consulting. For its new contract service offering, Duct Doctor USA will continue to employ its patent-protected, industry-unique air duct cleaning vehicle while ensuring that all cleaning strictly follows National Air Duct Cleaner Association (NADCA) standards and guidelines.
