Harrison Wipes sponsors IoD 'Aspirations in Business 2014' for Essex schools

Harrison Wipes has announced its sponsorship of the 9th Annual Institute of Directors 'Aspirations in Business 2014' event. The event is focused on inspiring and encouraging the next generation of Essex students, aged 16 - 19, to become the business leaders of the future.

Aspirations in Business has been highly successful in previous years, nurturing young entrepreneurial talent; just one of the reasons Harrison Wipes is keen to be involved with such a valuable project.

The event aims to help students become better prepared when looking for work, present themselves to prospective employers and understand some of the factors that drive success, all of which are very important skills to develop. Harrison Wipes says it's pleased to have the opportunity to show its support to the young people in the local community.

Building on the achievement of last year's Aspirations in Business where there were two heats and a grand finale, this year's event will consist of three heats held across Essex in Colchester, Chelmsford and Southend with the grand finale taking place at Anglia Ruskin University in November 2014.

Schools from across the county are invited to attend. At each heat there will be six teams taking part, made up of 8 - 10 students, a member of school staff and a table host. To win the heat, teams will compete in a series of presentations plus an entrepreneurial exercise judged by the IoD panel. The two winning teams from each heat will go on to compete head to head in the grand finale with table hosts acting as mentors.

Students will be given the opportunity to network with members of the IoD as well as to use their creative initiative, team work and communication skills to present their ideas to the panel of judges and ultimately win the competition. This competitive event gives students a unique insight into the business world for those wishing to move forward into a business related career or start their own company.
