Pulire 2015: cleaning solutions for Ho.Re.Ca.

* Pulire.jpgPulire, the largest trade show in Italy dedicated to professional cleaning technologies and the second largest in Europe, taking place in Verona from 19th to 21st May, is a key partner for the hospitality (Ho.Re.Ca.) segment.

"Sparkling clean hotels, lodgings, wellness centres, spas and restaurants are the most effective calling card for our country, which is being tested this year with the major challenge of Expo 2015," say the organisers.

Cleanliness is a significant factor in selecting a hotel, a restaurant or a place of leisure and recreation, underscored by a survey conducted for Afidamp (the Italian Association of Professional Cleaning Equipment Manufacturers) by the ISPO institute of Renato Mannheimer, which found that Italians are very critical about the cleanliness of the spaces they frequent. Indeed, a number responded that they would be willing to leave a restaurant or hotel if these do not meet the minimum standard of hygiene desired, especially as regards the kitchen and bedrooms - even more than the bathrooms.

Out of a sample of 801 surveyed, 91% of those interviewed expect a superior level of hygiene and cleanliness in restaurants and 86% in hotels. Some 52% consider the level of cleaning found in hotels to be very high, while 51% express the same consideration for restaurants. The gap between the level of cleanliness desired and the level found on a scale of 1 to 10 is equal to 1.8 percentage points for restaurants and 1.6 percent for hotels.

Respondents view the owners of the spaces frequented, as responsible for cleaning - especially for restaurants (63%) and hotels (56%).

At Pulire, industry professionals and some of the largest and most important services and facilities management companies that provide outsourced services for the ho.re.ca segment can find a number of solutions to meet the quality standards of cleaning & hygiene increasingly important to the market. These include anything and everything from equipment such as multiservice carts - considered essential for correctly carrying out the job, to wet mops, brushes, and cloths for cleaning and sweeping, single brush machines, wet vacs, floor washing and drying tools, wash cloths and detergents specifically designed for types of floors, degreasers, lime scale removers and disinfectants...

What is never neglected is the courtesy closely associated with hygiene. This is why Pulire hosts the largest manufacturers of professional tissue, from paper towels to nonwoven fibre towels to paper products.

An ancillary segment to professional cleaning, especially when we talk about hospitality, is laundry and fabric care. Hotel and restaurant personnel need uniforms that are perfectly clean and ironed. Therefore, this year was the first year that Pulire launched the Pulire Clean initiative, which addresses this market segment and which will be immediately recognisable and characterised in hall 1, but with exhibitors across the trade fair, with a view to adding value to the new concepts in this segment. Cleaning industry professionals will have an opportunity to meet with the main manufacturers of mops, brushes and uniforms which require different specific and efficient washing solutions such as pre-treating the mop heads with the detergent necessary for floor cleaning. In terms of chemicals; synergies and partnerships can arise in view of the complete collection of washing machines and detergents, dedicated to the markets that represent a key interest of both sectors - without of course neglecting the facilities management companies that have always delivered outsourced services.

Pulire can take pride in being an exclusively b2b trade show: it boasts more than 270 exhibitors from 25 countries, including some of the key national and international manufacturers of machinery, products, and equipment for professional cleaning and more than 14,00 visitors (unique admissions), coming to Verona from 90 countries from around the world.

"The 2015 edition of Pulire is particularly rich in new business ideas for specific vertical sectors, such as how hospitality plays a role of significant strategic relevance," affirms Toni D'Andrea, managing director of Afidamp Servizi. "The organisation is committed to making the contact between the supply and demand more effective and more immediate by proposing a specific product differentiation that is vital to developing the value of every professional cleaning segment in all its various applications.

"We also have an app known as Pulire 2.1, which makes the event more accessible and functional, simply through a smartphone and tablet."
