Hand hygiene monitoring specialist HyGreen, partners with Sinapsis Medical in Istanbul, Turkey

* HowStep3.jpgHand hygiene monitoring specialist HyGreen, announced yesterday a distribution agreement and partnership with Sinapsis Medical Technologies in Istanbul, Turkey.

Each year, hundreds of millions of patients around the world are affected by healthcare-associated infections as organisms are transmitted from patient to patient via the unwashed hands of healthcare workers - as well as by other sources. To help combat these infections, the HyGreen system actively reminds healthcare workers if they forget to wash before patient contact and wirelessly records all hand hygiene events in the hospital.

The HyGreen Hand Hygiene System combines RF technology, proximity sensors and an advanced IT platform to provide sophisticated outcomes data. This has shown a direct correlation to reductions in nosocomial infections. Improved quality of care, shorter hospital stays, decreased recidivism, decreased rates of nosocomial infections and overall increased revenue for hospitals using the HyGreen System are some of the benefits of this best in class solution.

Sinapsis Medical has access and has registered the HyGreen product line into Turkey's Ministry of Health purchasing data base. This registration is a critical step in meeting eligibility requirements and acceptance in more than 1200 hospitals in Turkey alone. Sinapsis has additional distribution channels in the Balkans, Switzerland and Germany.

Cross training of sales and engineering teams are complete and demonstrations are in process.

"It is well established that healthcare workers are the principal cause of transmission of infection from patient to patient. The HyGreen System promotes good hand hygiene habits with real time correction on an individual basis prior to patient contact," said HyGreen President, Ron Youngblood.

The HyGreen system was designed to reflect guidelines from leading industry experts, including the Association for Professionals in Infection Control & Epidemiology (APIC), the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA), the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) The World Health Organisation and the Joint Commission.
