Welcome to the
Cleanzine - the original Cleaning & Hygiene industry e-news Read by industry professionals in 163 countries worldwide! With many of the major cleaning industry manufacturers based in Germany and some 16,000 cleaning professionals expected from 65 countries, CMS Berlin is always a good show and 2015 is no exception. The 377 exhibitors – not just from Germany but from 20-plus other countries, are presenting a complete overview of the products, systems and processes covering all aspects of cleaning technology and cleaning chemicals and some 50 products are making their world or European debut, or their first appearance at a trade show. This is what you call success! There’s a well-thought-out conference programme if you want to get into discussion with industry colleagues and experts from other countries but if it’s new products and equipment you’re after, you’ll be spoilt for choice. Cleaning machinery and cleaning products can be seen in action under practical conditions on the areas in front of the South Entrance, which are devoted to ‘Glass & Façade Cleaning’ and ‘Aerial Work Platforms’, while The ‘Groundcare’ show in Hall 2.2 features machinery, equipment and accessories for maintaining green spaces, roads and paths, and for winter services. ‘Design’ is a topical subject and in Hall 1.2 the finalists of the CMS Purus Awards can be seen for the duration of the fair in their own presentation area. Many exhibitors are running demonstrations on their own stands too. The show finishes on Friday evening and if you’re planning on attending, make sure you wear comfy shoes. It takes a lot of walking if you want to see everything that there is to see… all available space on the 25,400sq.m display area in Halls 1.2 to 4.2 and on the open-air grounds are occupied. Some of the larger stands seem to go on forever… If you’re not attending, some of the new products on show are featured below. One of the things I love about the Berlin shows is that once the serious business of the day is finished, the food and drink come out and the entertainment, singing and dancing starts. The Germans know how to organise a good show but they know how to have fun too and they’re very hospitable. It’s a crying shame that we have to wait until 2017 for the next event... One of the highlights of the first day of CMS Berlin was the presentation of the CMS Purus Awards 2015 for outstanding design. This year the competition attracted 62 entries from over 40 exhibitors, of which 15 entries made it through to the final round of the two-stage selection process. Nilfisk, Vileda, SCA and Karcher were the winners. In the 'Machinery' category the award went to the 'VP600' industrial vacuum cleaner from Nilfisk. Among the features that led to this decision are its light weight, automatic cable winder and the ease with which the various elements can be replaced with the aid of bayonet connectors. Hako GmbH - Hall 1.2 / Stand 200: Scrubmaster B75 R ride-on scrubber-cleaner 'agile and easy to use' Scrubmaster B75 R is the nifty new ride-on scrubber-cleaner from Hako, which can reach those areas that were previously restricted to hand-held machines and walk-behind scrubber-driers. Stein Deutschland GmbH - Hall 3.2 / Stand 205 - Teamdress polo tunics First impressions count, and this is especially true of staff uniforms. Wearers should feel comfortable and fashionable, but the clothing should also be practical.
These polo tunics satisfy these conditions, combining the functionality of a tunic with that of a polo shirt. Many new colour combinations are now available, with or without pockets, and with stand-up collars for women. MP hygiene - Hall 4.2, Stand 124 - Ultra-resistant paper towels and a quiet dispensing mechanism Made in France by first-time CMS Berlin exhibitor MP hygiene, ultra-resistant DESL+ paper towels are very strong, both when wet and also when dry. They are said to be 30% more absorbent than other types of paper towel and also more economical, using 20% less material. Covering a very compact area and with reduced weight, it enables sanding, cleaning or polishing to be carried out quickly and efficiently.
